Duraflex has been a dominant force in the aftermarket styling world since 2000, offering a wide range of fiberglass body kits, hoods, and fenders designed for vehicles like the BMW 3-Series. Known for blending aggressive styling with accessible pricing, Duraflex products give enthusiasts a practical way to transform the look of their BMW 3-Series without stepping into ultra-premium price territory. From bold front and rear bumpers to sleek side skirts and wide fender flares, each component is designed to elevate both aesthetics and aerodynamic presence.
Duraflex parts are constructed using a proprietary fiberglass blend that balances flexibility and strength, making them more resilient than traditional fiberglass alone. Each product is finished with a black gel coat and often includes mesh grilles where applicable, providing a solid foundation for paint and customization. With a broad catalog covering multiple vehicle platforms, Duraflex makes it easy to give your BMW 3-Series a distinctive, head-turning appearance.
For optimal results, professional installation is recommended. Due to the nature of fiberglass components, some level of modification such as trimming, sanding, or adding fiberglass may be required during the fitting process. It is strongly advised to perform a full dry fit before drilling or final installation. Taking the time to properly align each piece will ensure your BMW 3-Series achieves a clean, cohesive, and well-integrated final look.

New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, item in its original packaging (where packaging is applicable). Packaging should be the same as what is found in our retail store. To be installed professionally by a bodyshop with a valid automotive repair business license. Fiberglass parts always require prep work before they can be primed and painted. This product is made with fiberglass material, therefore it will exhibit chips, breaks, cracks, waves, scratches and holes which require modification. It is necessary to dry fit and drill mounting holes and preform body work before paint. Cutting and adding of fiberglass may be required for proper fitment. Ships direct from the manufacturer or a distributor. Primer finish. Hand layup is the manufacturing process used for the majority of our fiberglass parts. Hoods require hood pins. We do not offer any guarantee of fitment on vehicles that have been in involved in accidents and/or have body damage or customization.
Duraflex hoods and hood accessories are aftermarket parts intended exclusively for off-road and show use. These hoods are often lighter than stock versions and may have vented designs, which can lead to increased aerodynamic lift at high speeds. For safety, hood pins or AeroCatch latches are required, as standard hood latches may not provide enough security.
Due to the nature of fiberglass and its manufacturing process, Duraflex hoods are not direct bolt-on parts. They typically require extensive preparation, including sanding, cutting, shaving, and filling gaps. Some areas may need additional fiberglass reinforcement for added durability. Drilling holes for mounting, making custom fitting adjustments, and modifying components like windshield washer nozzles and tubing using a rotary tool are often necessary. Depending on the hood design, not all original parts, such as washer nozzles, may transfer to the new hood, requiring replacements or modifications.
Hood Latch Adjustments
Duraflex hoods may require adjusting the hood latch for proper alignment and secure closure. This process involves repositioning the latch and making small tweaks to ensure the striker catches correctly. Since fiberglass hoods can have minor variations or warping, additional work such as enlarging mounting holes or using shims might be needed. Hood bump stops may also need adjustment or removal for a proper fit.
Hood Accessories: Scoops and Other Modifications
Duraflex offers a variety of hood accessories, including scoops, designed to improve both performance and appearance. Installing a scoop usually requires drilling holes in the hood for mounting, using bolts or adhesive depending on the scoop style. When attaching scoops to fiberglass hoods, adding fiberglass reinforcement around the mounting area may be necessary to ensure a secure fit. Accurate measurements and proper fitting are critical to avoid leaks and maintain the hood’s integrity.
For best results, Duraflex recommends professional installation by a custom shop experienced with fiberglass components and hood accessories. Traditional auto repair shops may not have the required expertise to handle these types of modifications.
Safety and Legal Use
Duraflex hoods, hood accessories, and other products are strictly for off-road and show use. Due to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, many of these products are not street legal. Duraflex does not recommend or endorse using these products on public roads or highways.
These are aftermarket hoods which means they are not direct bolt-on parts and will require prep work by your bodyshop before installation.
Hood Security: AeroCatch latches or hood pins are always required in addition to whatever locking mechanism the hood has. This applies to all FRP and carbon fiber hoods — they are generally lighter than stock, and vented designs in particular can generate significant lift at speed, so those latches are required.
Latch Transfer: We'd recommend having your bodyshop check the underside photos in the product images before ordering — many hoods, whether FRP or carbon fiber, either include a latch already molded in, or come with the bolt holes needed to transfer your OEM latch over. This is especially common on hoods for cars with more complicated removable latches (like the E36), so it's worth confirming before assuming hood pins are the only option.
Wiper Nozzles: Your bodyshop will also need to drill the wiper washer nozzle holes and additional holes through the underside skeleton to route and mount the wiper fluid tubes underneath — this applies to both FRP and carbon fiber hoods. Most hoods have cutout areas already built into the underside bracing to make this easier — your bodyshop should check for those first. When drilling, the best practice is to mark the area with blue painter's tape to protect the surface and prevent splintering, start with a small pilot hole, and work up progressively in bit size.
